Light shorts with plenty of movement
Rab says:
Delivering the cool comfort and mobility you need on dynamic mountain days, these lightweight shorts are built with 4-way stretch and a split hem for complete freedom of movement. With an adjustable elasticated waistband for a close fit on the move.
When temperatures hike up and the mountains beckon, these super light shorts allow plenty of airflow to keep you exploring in cool comfort. Constructed with an exceptionally stretchy fabric and a split hem, they enable movement in every direction, ideal for tricky boulder problems and light-footed scrambles.
Our Verdict
At 155g (UK 12), the Rab Women’s Harpur Shorts are light, stretchy, and cut for easy movement on steep ground. The fully elasticated waistband keeps bulk low under a pack hipbelt or harness, while the split hem helps with high steps, scrambling and bouldering.
They are best suited to warm, dry or mixed summer conditions. The fabric gives useful breathability and freedom of movement, but these are not shorts I would choose for sustained bad weather or repeated rough abrasion. Pocketing is minimal, with two open hand pockets and a concealed rear pocket, so storage is limited to small essentials.
