Our Verdict
The Firewall Light 3L is a lightweight 3-layer waterproof built for hillwalking and backpacking in mixed conditions. At 317g (Medium), it keeps weight sensible while still using Pertex Shield fabric with a 20,000mm hydrostatic head and 20,000g/m²/24hrs breathability rating.
The knitted backer is the detail I like most, as it makes the jacket more comfortable over a thin layer or T-shirt in changeable weather. The articulated sleeves enhance movement, and the two AquaGuard-zipped hand pockets keep the layout simple. There are no pit zips, an internal pocket or helmet-compatible hood, so it is not a full mountain shell. Best for three-season hillwalking and backpacking where comfort, packability and reliable rain protection matter most.
