Our Verdict
The Osprey Transporter Duffel 30L is a compact, rugged travel and gear haulier with a large U-shaped opening and a stowable backpack harness. At 30 litres, it works well for short trips or climbing kit.
What makes it particularly effective is the carry system. The contoured padded straps and sternum strap make it far more comfortable to carry through stations, airports or between accommodation than the basic shoulder straps. At the same time, the harness can be stowed or removed when it isn’t needed.
The main compartment is deliberately simple, with an internal mesh pocket and zipped end pocket. I like the uncluttered layout for clothing and outdoor kit.
At 880g, it isn’t especially light, but the weight reflects the tough NanoTough fabric, reinforced base and substantial carrying system.
