Nortent says:
At NORTENT, we believe that a restful night in the wild depends on both spaciousness and comfort. This philosophy drives our gear design, ensuring that most moments spent outdoors, feels like a natural extension of home. As much as possible. We created the Torv 7 sleeping pad with the same commitment to quality and harmony that shaped our tents and our Lyng sleeping bag. Rooted in our vision to provide a complete outdoor experience, the Torv 7 is more than just a place to rest, it’s an indispensable companion that preserves your comfort in any season or terrain. From the start, we have upheld a passion for quality and a deep respect for the great outdoors, mindful that a poorly designed pad can overshadow even the finest tent. With an unwavering focus on comfort, performance, and sustainability, the Torv 7 invites you to a good rest and sleep in the wilderness. And yes, we designed the Torv 7 in matching colors so your pad and bag combine seamlessly, creating a unified, cohesive look and feel.
Generous dimensions for a spacious Sleep. Measuring 198 cm in length, 68 cm in width, and 11 cm in height, the Torv 7 offers ample room to stretch out. Despite these roomy dimensions and luxurious comfort, it weighs just 840 g, allowing you to enjoy a restful night’s sleep without adding unnecessary weight to your pack.
All-season performance. With an R-value of 7 (ASTM F3340-22), the Torv 7 provides outstanding insulation and warmth year-round. From frosty winter treks to crisp alpine adventures, you’ll rest easy knowing your gear meets most of nature’s toughest challenges. ASTM F3340-22 is currently recognized as the industry standard for measuring the R-value (thermal resistance) of sleeping pads, ensuring comparable results across different brands. This is a common, standardized test method developed by ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials). Please note that this is measured in a controlled laboratory environment where actual performance in the field can vary depending on factors such as air moisture, wind chill, ground temperature, and individual comfort preferences, especially in very cold conditions. For added insulation and protection in extreme cold, we recommend placing a thin rollout mat beneath the pad.
Sustainability and respect for nature. We meticulously source materials to minimize environmental impact, eliminating all fluoride from both the coating and the fabric. You can sleep soundly, knowing your gear reflects our shared responsibility to safeguard the wild places we love.

One of the most vital foundations for a good night’s rest in the wild is finding the perfect balance between ergonomic support and light packability. Traditional ultralight pads often sacrifice height and cushioning to save weight, leaving you with stiff mornings on hard ground. That’s why the Torv 7 Lite is engineered from the ground up to offer maximum cushion depth in a streamlined, pack-friendly shape.
-
Measuring 186 cm in length and 55 cm in width, with a plush 11 cm height, it ensures you stay comfortably supported off the ground when you roll over or shift positions. We know that this combination of deep cushioning and efficient sizing means deeper, more restorative sleep
-
The Torv 7 Lite’s impressive 11 cm height doesn’t just shield you from freezing ground, it practically floats you above rough, uneven terrain. Even with a weight reduced to just 600 g, we refused to compromise on depth. This generous loft offers gentle, encompassing support for your hips, shoulders, and knees, ensuring you never bottom out against rocks, roots, or frozen dirt.
You’ll feel the difference the moment you lie down. The pad molds seamlessly to your body’s contours for stable, restorative sleep after a long day on the trail. Side-sleepers in particular will appreciate how the 11 cm cushioning cradles key pressure zones and absorbs surface

Layered Insulation for all-saeason warmth
The Torv 7 Lite is engineered to keep you warm in any season without adding weight or volume to your pack. Positioned at the top, a layer of 90g Thermolite™ insulation (marked in yellow) traps air and prevents internal circulation, dramatically reducing convective heat loss using the same thermal principles as down. Deep inside the pad, five layers of heat-reflective aluminum foil act as thermal mirrors, bouncing your body’s radiated heat straight back to you rather than allowing it to escape into the cold ground.By combining Thermolite™ to eliminate convection, reflective aluminum to block radiation, and a plush 11 cm air barrier to arrest conduction, the Torv 7 Lite protects you against all three primary pathways of heat loss. The result is an uncompromising year-round thermal rating (R-value 7) in a very light 600 g design that packs down seamlessly.
- Dual purpose pump sack & compact storage
The Torv 7 Lite’s multi-functional stuff sack doubles as an efficient pump sack, streamlining setup while keeping your total pack weight down to just 600 g. Using it is intuitive and effortless: simply connect the sack’s valve opening to the pad’s inflation port, roll down the top to capture air, and gently compress to fill the pad. In just a few quick rolls, your pad is fully inflated to its plush 11 cm height—all while completely preventing moisture from your breath from entering the interior. When it’s time to break camp, the same sack neatly compresses the pad down to its compact 25 x 10 x 10 cm pack size for maximum pack efficiency. -
Stremlined dual function valve
Gone are the days of juggling multiple valves or complex mechanisms to set up your sleeping pad. The Torv 7 Lite features a single, cleverly engineered dual function valve that handles both inflation and deflation with effortless precision. When set to “inflate,” the integrated one-way mechanism allows air to flow freely into the pad while preventing it from escaping, ensuring every stroke from your pump sack counts and maintaining pressure even if you take a break. When it’s time to break camp, simply switch to “deflate” to open the main port wide, allowing air to flush out instantly for fast, effortless packing down to its compact 25 x 10 x 10 cm size.
This single-valve approach not only saves crucial setup time in cold weather, but also reduces weight and eliminates unnecessary failure points for a lighter, more reliable system in the wild.
ASTM R-Value:
From 2020, there is a new industry standard for measuring the R-value (level of insulation) of sleeping mats – ASTM F3340-18. This new standard is the sleeping mat equivalent to the EN rating for sleeping bags.
You can now directly compare the R-value of mats rated using the ASTM F3340-18 with confidence that is a fair and accurate comparison between mats. In simple terms, the higher the R-value, the warmer the mat.
In general terms, an R-value below 2.0 is for summer use, 2.0 to 4.0 is for cooler 3 season use and 4.0+ is for winter temperatures. This will be also be dependent on your sleeping bag, how cold you sleep etc. Please contact our customer service team if you need advice on choosing the right mat for your activity.
