Low-profile warmth for high-output days
VAGA says:
Built using Polartec® Power Grid™, this is our most technical cold-weather skull cap to date. Lightweight, highly breathable and exceptionally warm for its weight, it delivers dependable insulation without adding unnecessary bulk.
The close-fitting four-panel construction sits comfortably beneath helmets, hoods or additional headwear, while the moisture-wicking fabric helps regulate temperature during everything from steady winter miles to race-day efforts.
Our Verdict
At just 21g, the VÅGA Summit Performance Skull Cap adds a little warmth without the bulk of a conventional fleece hat.
The Polartec Power Grid fabric is highly breathable and manages moisture well, making it better suited to running, fast hiking and harder efforts than a thicker beanie.
I also like the close four-panel fit, which sits neatly under a waterproof hood or helmet. It isn't especially wind-resistant, but in exposed conditions it works well as part of a layering system.
