Our Verdict
Most tent manufacturers recommend using a footprint to help protect the groundsheet, but with lightweight tents there is always a trade-off between extra protection and extra weight.
At 298g, the Sentinel XP3 Lightfoot is light enough that I would consider carrying it when pitching regularly on rough, wet or muddy ground. The 68D PU-coated polyester adds a useful barrier against abrasion and helps keep the tent floor cleaner, which is especially welcome if you are using the shelter repeatedly over a longer trip.
