Our Verdict
The Sonic LS Zip strikes a good balance between airflow, coverage and on-the-move comfort. The Dryflo Air fabric feels light and breathable, while the deep-chest zip offers far more control over ventilation than a standard crew-neck baselayer. At 124g (Medium), it adds useful sleeve coverage for breezy ridgelines and cooler starts without feeling overly warm once effort levels rise.
I also like the hidden thumb loops and low-profile seams, both of which help the layer sit neatly under pack straps or a shell. The fit remains fairly trim, but for fast hiking and active hill use, it feels very well judged.
