A tiny alternative to permanently attached pot handles.

Built-in pot handles weigh 20 to 30 g, sit hot next to the flame, and ride with you for every mile whether you're cooking or not. The Pot Hopper drops that weight to 4.5 g, lighter than a U.S. nickel, and detaches when you're done. The frame is 3D-printed aluminum with a high-visibility orange ceramic coating; a custom nitinol element acts as both the pivot and the spring. Squeeze to clamp the rim, release to open. Optimized for ~750 ml titanium pots. Pairs with the Fuel Stand for a stable, lightweight cook setup.
Our Verdict
We're working out what we think about Igneous Gear's Pot Hopper, we'll add our comments here in due course
The Igneous Gear Pot Hopper is seriously small, roughly the size of the nail clippers you might find in a Christmas cracker. At just 4g, it offers a clear weight saving over built-in pot handles, which can weigh more, but also get incredibly hot.
The spring-loaded design clamps onto the rim when squeezed, giving you a removable handle for lifting hot titanium cookware. It is designed around pots of roughly 750ml, so compatibility is more limited than a conventional pot gripper.
The 3D-printed aluminium frame keeps the weight down, while the bright ceramic coating should make it easier to spot among cooking gear, but it's still small enough to lose so I would pack it in my cook kit.
