Our Verdict
At 331g (Medium), the Nano-Air Light Hoody is a true put-on-and-leave-on layer. The combination of FullRange synthetic insulation with an air-permeable 30-denier shell makes a lot of sense for cold, stop-start mountain activity, where you want warmth without constantly changing layers.
The stretchy shell, lining and insulation work with the articulated cut to keep movement unrestricted, while the breathable construction helps reduce overheating. The DWR-treated outer will deal with light moisture, but it's not a replacement for a dedicated shell.
I also like the low-bulk hood and pocket layout, with two zipped hand pockets and two zipped chest pockets, one of which doubles as a stuff sack.
