- What is ReSHIELD? ReSHIELD is Sea to Summit’s next-generation waterproof laminate, engineered for durability and
environmental responsibility. It’s created by recovering polyvinyl butyral (PVB) membranes from damaged automotive windscreens - material that would otherwise go to landfill - and repurposing them into a tough, waterproof barrier for technical travel gear. The PVB film is laminated to recycled base fabrics and tested to exceed 10,000 mm hydrostatic head, delivering long-term waterproof performance and structural integrity where it’s needed most.
