Our Verdict
At 52g (Medium), the Montane Khamsin Lite Gloves sit nicely between a thin liner-style glove and a heavier winter option. The OCTA 100 fleece-like lining provides lightweight insulation while staying quick-drying and breathable, which should make them well suited to colder walks where you are still working hard.
The stretch softshell outer keeps dexterity good, while the goat-leather palm adds extra grip and durability for trekking poles and general mountain use. I also like the low-profile cuff, which should sit neatly beneath a jacket sleeve.
They are not waterproof, but for active cold-weather use, I think the balance of warmth, breathability and low weight is very appealing.
