The Sea to Summit Horizon Cutlery Set is a great addition for any backpacking setup thanks to its innovative design and its weight.
Sea to Summit says:
Designed for how you eat outdoors.
Made from rigid, food-grade, glass-reinforced polypropylene, it's easy to clean, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe.
The knife’s fully serrated sheepsfoot blade is broad for effective cutting and spreading. The fork, spork and spoon feature smooth surfaces for a comfortable eating experience. Each set includes a carabiner hole for easy hanging and drying. Invert the handles and clip the utensils together for an extended spork or spoon. Perfect for meal pouches or deep camping pots.
Each piece snaps securely together for space-saving storage.
Our Verdict
The Horizon Cutlery Set keeps things simple, but I think the design details make a real difference in use. At 25g, you get a knife, spoon and spork rather than relying on a single compromise utensil. They clip together for reaching into dehydrated meal pouches or deeper pots.
The smooth finish is nicer to eat from than rougher plastic sets. It will not feel as robust as metal utensils, but for lightweight backpacking and simple cook systems, I think it strikes a very sensible balance.
