Our Verdict
Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel is designed for waterproof footwear where ordinary detergents can leave residues that affect breathability and water repellency. The brush-on applicator also makes it easy to work the cleaner into muddy uppers, seams and around the rand without using more product than you need.
It aims to maintain the footwear's existing performance rather than add a separate waterproof coating. Cleaning away dirt and contamination helps the upper breathe properly again and can revive water repellency when grime is the main problem.
