An ultralight foam pad with a simple, multi-purpose design.

Compared to our 1/8" Thinlights, the Torso Foam Pad boasts 3/8" thickness to provide more cushion while remaining relatively weight neutral.
Please note that some pads will feature scuffs, small air pockets, or creases. This is cosmetic and does not affect performance.
Our Verdict
At 83g, I think the Folded Torso Pad makes the most sense as part of a wider ultralight system rather than simply as a sleeping mat. The 9.5mm closed-cell foam gives noticeably more cushioning than a thin protective foam pad, while the 76cm torso length keeps the weight exceptionally low.
Used alone, the narrow tapered shape and limited cushioning make it a fairly specialised option for minimalist sleepers. I think its real strength is how many other jobs it can do: it works as a sit pad, adds protection beneath an inflatable mat, or provides backup insulation if an inflatable fails; it also adds friction between an inflatable pad and your tent floor, which helps stop your pad sliding about.
If you use a Gossamer Gear Mariposa, Gorilla, or G4-20, it can also replace the supplied padded sit pad in the back panel, so it fits neatly into an existing Gossamer Gear setup.
