Providing warmth whilst balancing breathability and protection, the THERMO HLG offers durable, high stretch protection and maximum thermal insulation with the high loft fleece inner that traps warmth whilst letting moisture escape. Double alpine ready chest pockets ensures harness and pack compatible access to storage, whist the under helmet hood and ergonomic fit complete this very warm and comfortable mid-layer.
Our Verdict
At 581g (Medium), the Dura XT Hoodie is firmly in heavyweight fleece territory. The THERMO HLG fabric combines a smooth stretch outer with a high-loft grid backing, providing plenty of warmth while still letting heat and moisture escape during steady movement.
The Regular fit gives enough room for a baselayer without feeling overly bulky, while the self-sealing hood and cuffs keep the design neat and help hold in warmth. I also like the Vector Lite reinforcement, which should improve durability in high-wear areas.
Two zipped hand pockets and two bonded chest pockets give plenty of storage, and the adjustable hem helps seal the jacket in colder conditions. It is heavy for a fleece, but the combination of warmth, stretch and a more protective outer makes that weight easier to justify for cold-weather mountain use.
