Warm feet without adding bulky camp footwear
Montbell says:
Utilizes quality 650 fill power down to deliver excellent warmth while in a tent, at a mountain hut, or indoors in cold conditions. The soles are made from synthetic leather to improve durability and grip, while urethane foam is inserted in the soles to enhance warmth and offer a soft feel. Comes in a high cut to bring warmth over the ankles.
Our Verdict
The Montbell Down Camp Booties combine 650-fill down with a high-cut design to keep your foot and ankle warm once you stop moving.
At 157g (Medium), they stay light enough for backpacking, while the foam underfoot insulates against a cold tent or hut floor. I also like the synthetic-leather sole, which gives them more grip and durability than a simple fabric-bottomed down sock.
They aren't waterproof, so they are just for inside a tent or bothy, not for a midnight trip to the loo.
