Our Verdict
At 580g (Medium), the Fjällräven Bergtagen Down Jacket packs in 250g of 800-fill-power goose down, so there is a serious amount of warmth here without it becoming a full expedition piece.
I like the use of PrimaLoft over the shoulders, where a rucksack would compress down and where moisture is more likely to build up; using down and synthetic insulation where each makes the most sense. I'm surprised more brands don't do it.
The helmet-compatible hood, big hand pockets and internal stash pockets all suit the mountain focus.
