Serious winter warmth with proper weather protection
Extremities says:
The Bergen Waterproof Cap combines waterproof X-Dry® protection with PrimaLoft® ThermoPlume® insulation for lightweight warmth. A ripstop nylon outer and insulated ear flaps offer comfort and coverage in the coldest conditions, with an adjustable rear toggle for a secure fit.
Our Verdict
At 129g (S/M), the Extremities Bergen WP Cap is seriously warm headwear. For me, this suits stationary winter use, low-output walking, and exposed conditions more than anything too physically demanding, as the PrimaLoft ThermoPlume insulation and cotton lining hold a lot of warmth.
The X-Dry membrane adds proper rain protection, while the insulated ear flaps give much more coverage when the wind picks up. I also really like the peak. As someone who wears glasses, having something that helps keep rain out of my line of sight makes a noticeable difference.
The rear toggle keeps the fit secure, and the ear flaps can be clipped up when you do not need the extra coverage.
