Our Verdict
The Patagonia Women’s Nano-Air Light Vest uses 40g FullRange insulation with an air-permeable 30-denier shell to add warmth around the torso while leaving the arms completely unrestricted. At 194g (Medium), it is light enough to layer easily and should suit fast hiking, climbing and other active use where breathability matters more than maximum warmth.
The stretchy fabric and articulated cut help it move naturally, while the DWR-treated outer offers some resistance to light moisture. I’d still treat it as an active insulation layer rather than weather protection.
Two zipped hand pockets and a zipped chest pocket keep storage simple, and the vest stuffs into the chest pocket when not in use. Clean armholes and a low-profile hem keep bulk to a minimum.
