Our Verdict
At 173g (Medium), the 200 Oasis Leggings use 100% merino wool to provide a good balance of warmth, breathability and next-to-skin comfort. The fabric sits close without feeling restrictive, while the gusseted crotch and flatlock seams help keep movement comfortable beneath walking trousers.
The main reason I’d choose merino here is for longer trips. It handles odour much better than most synthetic baselayers, so it is easier to wear for several days without feeling unpleasant. I also think they work especially well as pyjamas, not just in winter but year-round, as the merino regulates temperature well without feeling overly warm.
